STEVENSVILLE, MD – (April 2014) PEAKE has recently overhauled the Audio/Visual system at the Queen Anne’s County Emergency Services Operations Center.Based on the needs and budget of the agency, PEAKE developed a design for their EOC AV system that not only improves overall function but is also scalable for future improvements. The integration of the new system took place over a week by wiring technicians, system engineers and A/V experts from PEAKE.The functionality of the EOC has improved and streamlined tremendously with the addition of several new A/V components. A key addition is the ability to control all functions of the system from an iPad mini. The video source and destination, volume and channel controls, and more are all accessed at the touch of a finger. A second control panel is wall-mounted and works simultaneously with the iPad mini. (click to view video)A crucial component of the system is an Extron Matrix Switcher. This component provides switching for high-resolution computer/video with stereo audio applications. It also is capable of switching HDTV/component analog video signals. This is the backbone to the system, allowing users to change the inputs and outputs of all the different video sources including computer, cable television, and video sources.PEAKE installed several new monitors and re-wired the entire A/V system of the Operations room. All wiring and function culminate in a 12 RU wall-mounted rack. This rack is designed to be easy-access for maintenance and care.On the conference tables, PEAKE installed desktop AC chargers, ethernet ports, VGA inputs and USB ports giving easy-access to power charging and communications inputs for those people working in the EOC.According to their website, the Queen Anne's County Department of Emergency Services is a department that brings together four closely tied yet distinct functions or divisions, operating under one umbrella.
