STEVENSVILLE, MD. (January 30, 2008) – For the tens of thousands in attendance at University of Phoenix Stadium Sunday, the first responders charged with maintaining public safety for Super Bowl XLII will be employing an innovative technology solution from PEAKE.The City of Glendale Fire Department has teamed up with PEAKE to deploy the Tactical Incident Communications Suite (TICS™) platform to maintain continuity of operations (COOP) for communications in the event traditional terrestrial systems become overloaded or unavailable. The system provides telephone, video teleconferencing (VTC) and broadband data connectivity to logistics personnel operating from the Area Command Center located on the stadium grounds. The TICS™ system utilizes satellite-based Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity and provides first responders the capability to communicate via broadband VSAT connections under any conditions. The system is a rugged, deployable package capable of being transported to an incident site via SUV, cargo truck or even helicopter. TICS™ includes a Cisco Integrated Services (ISR) IP-Router, five Cisco 7961 IP-Telephone sets, a Tandberg Portable VTC unit and a 1-meter transportable “fly-away” satellite dish. The TracStar P1000 transportable antenna deploys from two transit cases and features auto-acquisition of the satellite, offering first responders a fast setup. Once on scene, typical setup of the entire system takes under 30 minutes.Utilizing Tactical-IP™ satellite services from PEAKE, the TICS system is capable of 2Mb per second of data, voice and video download and 1Mb per second of simultaneous upload. This enables instantaneous voice/video/data communication with headquarters, as well as other State and Federal agencies.PEAKE is a technology solutions provider specializing in the design, development and implementation of IP-based emergency communications. PEAKE provides turnkey solutions in voice, video and data for first responders, disaster recovery and continuity of operations.
