PEAKE Customer Highlight- ICE Homeland Security Investigations

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is the largest investigative agency within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. It consists of two main program areas - Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO).HSI has broad legal authority to enforce a diverse array of federal statutes. It uses this authority to investigate all types of cross-border criminal activity, including:

  • Financial crimes, money laundering and bulk cash smuggling;
  • Commercial fraud and intellectual property theft;
  • Cybercrimes;
  • Human rights violations;
  • Human smuggling and trafficking;
  • Immigration, document and benefit fraud;
  • Narcotics and weapons smuggling/trafficking;
  • Transnational gang activity;
  • Export enforcement; and,
  • International art and antiquity theft.

Homeland Security Investigations deploys three Mobile Command Centers dispersed throughout the country to serve as a command, control and communications platforms for large-scale operations including investigations, disasters and national security special events.ICE HSI has supported and deployed their MCC’s at the following recent major national events:

  • NCAA Final Four/March Madness in Dallas, TX
  • Super Bowl 50
  • Little League World Series
  • Louisiana Floods
  • Dallas Shooting

PEAKE supports ICE HSI, their Mobile Command Center’s, and other HSI communication vehicles providing Tactical IP Satellite Service and PROSupport Engineering Services. When deployed to incidents or events, the HSI MCC utilizes PEAKE Tactical IP VSAT service for reliable communications throughout operation. PEAKE engineers remotely support on-going HSI deployments.
