What is MANET and how is it used in Public Safety?


Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) technology can play a critical role in public safety by providing dependable wireless communication capabilities in situations where traditional communication methods may not be available or reliable. MANET nodes are designed to operate without a fixed infrastructure, allowing them to form a self-organizing network topology that can dynamically adapt to changes in the environment. MANET nodes are IP-based and can support a variety of communication modes, including voice, text, and data, which makes them highly versatile and adaptable to a wide range of emergency situations.
