Several PEAKE employees spent Friday morning volunteering at the Maryland Food Bank in Baltimore. Project Coordinator John Morgan, Technical Drafter Kyla Mackey and Administrative Assistant/Purchaser Sarah Andrew spent time sorting and repacking donated food for the MD Food Bank's core food-distribution program.“It was a great opportunity to take a small part of my day to help others," said John Morgan. In April, Sarah Andrew organized a food drive at PEAKE that culminated Friday with the delivery of the donated food and the group volunteering. The PEAKE “Community” program encourages employees to voluntarily participate and contribute to the communities, in which we work, live and serve.According to the Maryland Food Bank website, the Maryland Food Bank has built relationships with the state government, food retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, distributors and corporations. The food bank relies on these relationships for a large percentage of the food they receive and distribute. The volunteering daily task list includes repacking donated food on our conveyor system, packing assorted food kits, packing health and beauty kits, and checking expiration dates. For more information on the Maryland Food Bank and ways to volunteer, visit their website at https://www.mdfoodbank.org/
