STEVENSVILLE, Md. (June 17, 2009) - PEAKE provided support to the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) throughout the recent PA Department of Corrections (DOC) communications exercise dubbed “Steel Castle Exercise”.The purpose of the exercise was to connect DOC personnel at a Moundsville, WV prison with the PA State Correctional Institution Greene County (SCI-Greene). The topography of Moundsville prevented the use of the Pennsylvania Statewide Radio Network (PASTARNet). PEMA provided satellite connectivity from Moundsville in order to connect into the PASTARNet. PEAKE supported PEMA with their efforts to provide d radio backhaul circuits to connect Moundsville, WV to the PASTARNet using Cisco’s IPICS which allowed for complete radio coverage.“PEAKE provided the expertise and time to reconfigure IPICS at no cost to the Commonwealth,” said PEMA’s Kevin Campbell. “PEAKE truly defines what ‘customer support’ should be.”PEAKE is a technology solutions provider specializing in the design, development and implementation of IP-based emergency communications. PEAKE provides turnkey solutions in voice, video and data for first responders, disaster recovery and continuity of operations. www.peake.com.
