Peake Satellite Comms trailer facilitates connectivity for Backup EOC(Stevensville, MD) November 2015- Peake of Maryland provided Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management with satellite communications support throughout the Pope’s Philadelphia visit in September.Peake engineers deployed the Osprey™ Communications Infrastructure Trailer with Tactical-IP Satellite Service to give Montgomery County OEM reliable satellite communications throughout setup and deployment. Peake engineers provided 24-hour on-site support to the agency over the course of the Papal visit.With hundred’s of thousands of people visiting the area for the papal visit and mass, the event was declared a National Special Security Event (NSSE). Montgomery County public safety officials prepared for the visit with Lower Merion officials, the United States Secret Service and Philadelphia public safety. The Pope stayed in Lower Merion making Montgomery County the epicenter of the Pope’s visit.The Osprey Trailer was used as the communications infrastructure for Montgomery County OEM’s backup emergency operations center at the Public Safety Training Campus. Utilizing Peake Tactical-IP VSAT service, the agency was able to achieve full network connectivity and access to voice, video and data via satellite.
