Queen Anne’s County trains on PEAKE Osprey for use at upcoming events including the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Run

PEAKE spent last Thursday with Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services training their team on the PEAKE Osprey communications trailer. The Osprey was integrated with Queen Anne’s Mobile Command Vehicle to provide them with Internet, phone, and POE for their mesh network via PEAKE Tactical-IP satellite network and services. The PEAKE-owned Osprey now gives the Queen Anne’s Mobile Command Vehicle reliable communications when it is deployed to upcoming events throughout the County. The Osprey is a communications infrastructure trailer that provides Internet and phone connectivity via satellite. With a large on-board generator, the Osprey also provides power to the scene of deployment.Currently Queen Anne’s County DES Mobile Command Vehicle does not have a satellite network on board. By tethering the Osprey with the QAC MCV, the agency can use the Osprey’s satellite connectivity for internet, phones and power over Ethernet to extend the capabilities of the vehicle’s current mesh network. The Queen Anne’s County MCV will now be able to utilize PEAKE’s Tactical-IP VSAT Service giving the agency the bandwidth they need when deployed.PEAKE team members Dave Bowyer and John Morgan spent the day at Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services integrating the Osprey with the MCV and providing training to the agency.A major event where Queen Anne’s will use the Osprey is the “Across the Bay 10K” or the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Run. This event is a 10K race across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge that connects the Eastern and Western shores of Maryland. The race brings close to 40,000 participants into Queen Anne’s County. To learn more about the Osprey and other Trailers visit PEAKE
