STEVENSVILLE, MD (August 2014) – PEAKE, a leading integrator of complex, multi-platform solutions, recently delivered a custom Prisoner Transport Vehicle to the US Marshals Service.The US Marshals provided two buses to be converted into prisoner transportation vehicles. PEAKE completed the transformation providing the agency with a secure and dependable transportation option.The conversion consisted of the installation of custom-fabricated steel screens to provide safe and durable compartments for prisoner travel. The steel screens were powder-coated and installed on the interior giving the bus a covert look. PEAKE also installed bench prisoner seating, guard seating areas, and emergency exit screening.Several PTZ cameras were installed to provide the US Marshals with surveillance options while prisoners are on board.The Prisoner Transport bus was developed in a strategic partnership between PEAKE and Brekford Corporation. The U.S. Marshals are the primary agency for fugitive operations in the United States. U.S. Marshals are also responsible for the protection of officers of the court, court buildings and the effective operation of the judiciary and assist with court security, prisoner transport, and serves federal arrest warrants.PEAKE’s Specialty Vehicle Division designs, builds or retrofits any vehicle to provide custom solutions for varying applications.
