STEVENSVILLE, MD – The Northeastern Pennsylvania Regional Counterterrorism Taskforce (NEPA-CTT) has recently contracted PEAKE to provide the group with several communication systems spanning over several county agencies, giving the entire region advanced resources and capabilities. The NEPA-CTT is one of nine taskforces serving as the regional point of contact for the distribution of all DHS Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) and Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program (LETPP) grant funds. The goal of this initiative is to provide "all-hazards" planning, mitigation, response and recovery services to the citizens. All nine taskforces are responsible for the development of a regional homeland security strategy and response plan consistent with federal and state direction. NEPA-CTT is responsible for Susquehanna, Lackawanna, Pike, Monroe, Northampton, Lehigh, Carbon and Wayne counties.PEAKE will provide the NEPA-CTT with turnkey products including several PEAKE pCom® 355 powered communications trailers and Tactical Incident Communications Systems (TICS®). PEAKE will also perform retrofits on each county’s existing command vehicles and/or trailers. The retrofits will increase the NEPA-CTT communications capabilities to include VSAT, Radio Interoperability, as well as access to cellular voice and data networks. Each division or county of the NEPA-CTT will be receiving a Raytheon ACU-1000 Interoperability Solution that will be integrated into their communication systems. With this integration the group will be able to communicate seamlessly when jointly responding and providing mitigation.
