Las Vegas, NV - February 20, 2012 — IP Access International (IPA), a global commercial satellite service provider of voice, video and data network solutions, and PEAKE, a leading technology solutions provider of mobile and tactical communications systems, will partner to showcase industry-leading satellite communications solutions at IWCE in Las Vegas, NV, February 20-24.IPA and PEAKE will jointly demonstrate advanced IP-Centric voice, video and data solutions for mission-critical communications on-board the Cisco® Network Emergency Response Vehicle (NERV), a mobile communication center designed to establish interoperable communications in emergency situations. The demonstration will feature several next-gen advanced technologies including Cisco TelePresence 1000, and Cisco IP Interoperability and Collaboration System (IPICS) enabling Push-To-Talk anywhere, LMR interoperability including two-way incident communications for voice, live/recorded video and data over a robust satellite link.By utilizing advanced IP architectures on command vehicles similar to those featured on the Cisco NERV, emergency responders can rapidly establish essential command presence, resource control and communication interoperability, allowing for critical situational awareness and mitigation.“Ensuring communication among first responders, especially during a crisis situation, is a major challenge for public safety agencies,” said Stephen Morgan, President, PEAKE. “Mobile communications solutions like those developed by PEAKE, enable responders to communicate seamlessly with incident resources, both in a traditional dispatch-oriented environment as well as in a dynamic ad-hoc situation that requires interaction and collaboration of multiple agencies. Agencies are rapidly adopting IP-based solutions in their mobile assets to align with those same technologies and capabilities found in their enterprise agency networks.”The Cisco NERV features an auto-acquire 1.8-meter satellite antenna to provide up to 5 Mbps of bandwidth for communications applications that require access to the Internet or other remote networks. For the featured demos, the NERV will utilize a Ku-Band TDMA link over IP Access’ world-class iDirect satellite network. This link provides a high throughput solution for demanding real-time applications such as TelePresence and voice interoperability solutions.“In a crisis situation it is imperative that field communications be highly mobile and rapidly deployable,” said Alan Rich, IPA president. “IPA uniquely delivers dedicated / on-demand bandwidth in a flexible model for availability, pricing and billing that allows organizations to use and pay for what they need, when they need it. This flexibility is important for first responder and emergency satellite communications.”The IWCE 2012 demonstration can be found outside the main entrance to the Las Vegas Convention Center's South Hall. Demonstration of Telepresence capability will be held hourly throughout the expo hours of IWCE. Other capability demonstrations and tours will be ongoing throughout the expo hours.About the Cisco NERV:The Cisco NERV is a self-deployable command and communications resource for first responders, critical infrastructure, and other organizations that have been affected by a catastrophic event and require mission-critical networking to recover normal operations. It meets or exceeds the National Incident Management System (NIMS) standards for type II mobile communication centers. Cisco NERVs are available for emergency response throughout thecontinental United States during the acute phase of an emergency.
